Science (STEM)

 

 

SCIENCE 7 – This is a full year program based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Students will study cell structure and function, genetics, natural selection, ecosystems, and Human Body systems. They will journal as a scientist by using Science Notebooks. Students will use balances, microscopes, and technologies as they perform a variety of activities that allow them to formulate hypotheses, collect data, and write conclusions based on scientific evidence.

 

SCIENCE 8 – This is a full year program based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Students will study forces, motion, and waves, structure and properties of matter, chemical reactions, the Periodic Table, and energy. They will journal as a scientist by using Science Notebooks. Students will collect data, interpret results, use technologies and learn to use various laboratory equipment. Math skills will be enhanced through the extensive use of problem-solving.
