EDUCATION SPECIALIST

My Biography

I was born and have lived in Southern California most of my life. I went to and graduated from the public school system in Long Beach (LBUSD). After graduating high school, I started to work at a local amusement park while going to Cerritos College. While working at the local amusement park, I met my future wife, who also is a teacher. Once I received my Associate in Arts degree form Cerritos College, I continued my education at CSUF. I acquired my Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Adolescent Development. After graduating from CSUF, I went on to get my teaching credential in Mild/Moderate special education. I completed my Master of Science degree in Education (with the focus of Special Education) from CSUF in May of 2009.  I went back to CSUF during the 2010-2011 school year to get my Added Authorization for Autism Spectrum (AAAS) added to my current Mild/Moderate Special Education Credential.

As for my personal life, my wife and I welcomed a daughter into our family in August of 2007 and a son in August of 2009.  My son is starting junior high school this year, and my daughter will be going into the 10th grade.  Both are currently students at a school in our wonderful Brea Olinda Unified School District.  My wife, daughter, and son mean the world to me and brighten up my life each and everyday.

I am very familiar with the Brea Olinda Unified School District and this year (2023-2024) will be my 18th year teaching in the district. I completed two semesters of student teaching at Mariposa Elementary School (one in 6th grade general education classroom and the other in RSP/SDC setting). I spent 16 years doing a variety of Education Specialist positions while at Laurel Elementary Magnet School.  The 2023-2024 school year will be my 2nd at Brea Junior High School as Education Specialist teaching.  I am looking forward to helping students meet their fullest potential in academic areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites the sharing of ideas.
