Principal's Message

Sheri Cole - Principal

Welcome to Brea Junior High School!

Brea Junior High School is an amazing place to work and learn! We are a high-performing school that provides rigorous and engaging academic tasks for all students.  Here at BJH, it is important that our students learn skills that they can use now and in the future.  Engaging students in learning opportunities that are relevant and teaching them transferable skills is pertinent.  These life-long skills help our students become well-rounded citizens who contribute positively to their school community and beyond.  The curriculum and extracurricular programs here at BJH are motivating, engaging, and pique students’ interests and curiosity. Our students apply important concepts and develop essential skills that can be applied both inside and outside of the classroom setting.

Brea Junior High School is founded on the principles of Bobcat P.R.I.D.E! Bobcats are a community of learners who commit to excellence in academics, citizenship, and personal P.R.I.D.E.

Positive Attitude - Show kindness and empathy to all.

Respect - Actively listen and treat others the way you want to be treated.

Integrity - Be honest with others and yourself. Do what’s right at all times.

Determination - Work hard and make the most of every moment.

Excellence - Put forth your best effort every day. Work to achieve your personal best.

Here at Brea Junior High School, our students have the opportunity to lead their own learning journey through both independent inquiry and in cooperative groups. The time students spend reflecting and engaging with learning tasks provides numerous opportunities to apply their learning in meaningful ways. There are high expectations for all students and we are committed to encouraging and supporting every student to be a productive and contributing member of our school community.  We value the learning journey of each student and realize that each student needs varied levels of support and encouragement during their time at BJH.
