Here is a short video introducing myself and my student teacher, Mr. Sanchez. This video also discusses class expectations for Math 8 Core and Algebra 1.

hello bridging High Families my name is Miss Rivera I will be your son or daughter's math a teacher or Algebra 1 teacher here this year a little bit about me this is mine walking to your teaching I've taught Mass 7 I taught Algebra 1 classes plus I've done PE this is my 20th year teaching overall also girls soccer coaches at the high school and so I've been doing that for 30 years I am married wonderful wife Carrie I have three children my son Jackson junior my son Travis is an 8th grader my daughter Reagan's of can I have a puppy so it keeps me busy throughout every day so the one who sings I want it I want to tell you is we are very fortunate to have a student Havasu he's also going to be helping me is mr. Sanchez. Would let him introduce himself Junior High Families my name is mr. Sanchez and I am student teaching this semester with mr. Rivera in both math 8 + number one I am with National University attending my master's degree in education with a single subject in math I'm also the Freshman baseball coach at the high school and I'm really looking forward to an amazing a little bit more about me on the personal note is that I am married my wife Lindsay and then I've got a 10 month old baby girl name Mila and we're just excited for this journey and to get more involved with education and is all with Brandon and thank you for the opportunity with your children so the great the great thing about this is if I'm busy with someone on a zoom meeting mrs. Sanchez is here every time I'm here and he's available on the Zoomies for help that your child needs so math 8 we cover the California standards and we go through every single topic in the math 8 textbook Algebra 1 we cover the algebra standards for algebra disc disc serves as our high school requirement because they must pass Algebra 1 to graduate high school they're just doing here at the junior high so that's one thing off your checklist eighth graders are considered Advanced students in Algebra 1 in 7th graders are considered advanced advanced students so it's really really important that we stay on top of things and all my classes have your student always check Google Classroom this is something new they're going to have to check every single day whether it's notifications weather is assignments or just any information that I have for the class assignments for homework will be given two to three weeks for 2:30 sorry to three times a week they're usually worth 4 Points a piece and there are due at the beginning of your child's. There a minute late 2 minutes late were okay but I can't have them three four hours late so just like in school you know if we were here it would come in the beginning of the. Their assignments are due each class will have a quiz or test quiz going to be worth 32 are worth 6280 points if we go over them as a class will you answer questions and so make sure that your students always knows when a quiz or test is I charge you just to let them know on a daily basis have a quiz next weekend test next week etcetera and so if you're unsure you can always email me but I can let you know that information Zoom in the classroom and so we have to assume etiquette and it's pretty similar to all the other teachers make sure they log in on time first. Is always the hardest but make sure they log in on make sure they're ready to go they have all the proper materials there in a good learning environment they're wearing proper attire. Still in their pajamas or no food or drink just like it would it be in the classroom can't have them eating their breakfast or lunch during class make sure they come in muted make sure they come in with her video on and their name on there video so I know who I'm talking to for the most they're doing really really good job on him so Props to you guys as parents to making sure that thing taken care of so I think you are one of the things I find for them to be success the more they participated math the more they're engaged to better their learning becomes so that's something that I try to keep exercising during the zoom lessons you guys answered I won't make fun of them hopefully their classmates will make fun of them but it's really important that they participate in their engage lastly office hours myself and mr. Sanchez are available on a daily basis starting at 7:45 in the they can come in answer questions last night to find me the previous Summit quiz or test whatever questions they have come in at 7:45 that's typically what I would do in a regular school setting my door is open for them to come in questions just to make sure that we got good knowledge and understanding if you ever need to get a hold of us if you need to get ahold of me my email is Pico Rivera Rivera s o p r i v e r US missile Sanchez G Sanchez at b o u s d u s.
