8th Grade Promotion

Important Information for 8th Grade Students and Families:
  • Promotion Information: 6 p.m. on June 2, 2025 at Brea Olinda High School Stadium. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. Ceremony begins promptly at 6 p.m. It is strongly recommended to arrive before that time to locate adequate parking and access the stadium.

  • Student Check-in: 5:30 p.m. sharp at the Brea Olinda High School Varsity Baseball Field near the staging area. Staff will be there to supervise and provide instructions. Please ensure students are dressed appropriately with practical shoes for walking downhill and across grass. Students may not bring purses, jackets or water bottles to the student check-in area. Award medals or pins earned for school recognition may be worn.
  • Student Attire: Students need to be appropriately dressed for this special occasion and shoes need to be practical for walking downhill on uneven ground and grass. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes. Extremely high heels are not recommended as the student may not be able to walk comfortably on the uneven ground. 
  • Parking Information (Parking Passes are Required): Parking lot opens at 4:15 p.m. To help manage seating and parking, tickets and parking passes will be required. Parking (with parking pass) will be available in the high school lots. Additional parking (without parking pass) will be available along the west side of Wildcat Way. Please note that parking in adjacent business complexes or at Brea Canyon High School is prohibited
  • Disabled Parking: A limited number of parking spots for disabled guests will be available in Lot 3 (closest to stadium - see the map.) Guests will be required to show a DMV issued disabled parking placard to access Lot 3. A shuttle service will be provided to disabled guests in Lot 3.
  • Admission and Seating: Tickets are required for entry to the promotion ceremony. Each student will receive eight (8) tickets and one (1) parking pass on the first day of promotion rehearsal, Friday, May 30. Stadium seating is on a first come, first served basis. The stadium is located on a steep hill and will require a short walk from the parking lot to the entrance of the stadium. The stadium has concrete seating. Disabled seating is available on the stadium floor level.
  • Audience Etiquette: To maintain a respectful and celebratory atmosphere, please be aware of the following prohibited items:
    • No air horns, noise-making devices, or balloons will be permitted into the stadium.
    • No ice chests, coolers, or free-standing chairs.
    • No weapons of any kind, flammable materials, alcoholic beverages, illegal substances
    • Note: Umbrellas are allowed as long as they do not obstruct the view of others. Guests who block the view will be asked to move to another location.
  • Conclusion of Event: Parents will need to pick up students after the promotion on the baseball field which is located East of the Stadium. Families are welcome to take pictures on the grass portion of the baseball field after the event. There will be step and repeats (photo backdrops) and photo opportunities available.
 
Note: Transportation to and from Brea Olinda High School is not provided by the District for this event. Parents/Guardians are responsible for transportation to the high school before and after the promotion ceremony. Please allow sufficient travel time so your student will arrive on time.
 
BJHS 8th Grade Promotion Rehearsal
Students will participate in rehearsals for the ceremony on May 30 and June 2 at Brea Junior High School's field. Note: June 2 is a minimum school day and students will be released at 12:40 p.m.
