The Brea Olinda Unified School District appointed Sheri Cole the new principal of Brea Junior High School at the October 13, 2022, Board of Education meeting. Cole will assume the role of principal Monday, October 17.
“We are excited to welcome Sheri to the BOUSD team and begin serving the students, staff and families of Brea Junior High School,” stated BOUSD Superintendent Brinda Leon. “She is a leader who has a strong focus on building a collaborative culture that invites a positive school environment and academic success.”
Prior to joining the Bobcats, Cole was principal in the Fontana Unified School District where she coordinated a variety of parent/family involved activities, developed and coordinated professional development opportunities and promoted positive interactions with students, families and staff.
Cole comes to BOUSD with over 25 years of experience in public education where she has obtained a comprehensive, global view of education, innovation and community building. She spent the first nine years of her career teaching elementary and junior high school, with a focus in language arts, science and social studies. Cole became an assistant principal in the Lancaster School District in 2006 and three years later was promoted to principal. In total, Cole has 16 years of administrative leadership, 13 as principal.

Cole possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Azusa Pacific University. She earned a Master of Arts in Educational Administration Leadership from Chapman University.
