Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year as the Bobcats comes back "roaring with PRIDE!"
I am Mrs. Hobby, and I am excited to begin my third year serving as an Education Specialist at Brea Jr. High, and my fifth year with BOUSD. I have been a Brea resident for the past 19 years. My husband and I have 3 children, all of whom are BOHS graduates. Our oldest is a Cal State Fullerton 2020 graduate, our middle attends BOUSD's Adult Transition program, and. our youngest is entering UCI as a freshman in September 2021. We also have a 10 year-old Terrier-mix dog, named Molly.
My educational background includes graduating from Los Alamitos High School, obtaining a B.A. in Sociology from UCLA, and a Masters of Special Education, along with a Mild/Moderate teaching credential from National University. At Brea Junior high, you might find me in Room F-38 teaching English 7A, Math 7A, or History 8A.
A few of my favorite pastimes include reading, spending time with my family, and staying active. I also enjoy dance, walks on the beach and watching my favorite musicals over and over again, including Hamilton, and most recently The Heights.
Philosophies that I live by are diverse, but for now I will focus on these words from a cherished song: "And when you get the choice to sit out or dance ... I hope you dance". These words speak to my strong belief that every individual should seize opportunities to engage in and experience life. There's so much to see and do, and we each have a purpose to fulfill.
