A New Addition ...
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I am Mrs. Hobby, and I am excited to begin my first year serving as an Education Specialist at Brea Jr. High, and my third year with BOUSD. I have been a Brea resident for the past 16 years. My husband and I have 3 children, including a BOHS junior, a BOHS senior, and a BOHS Class of 2016 graduate. We also have an 8 year-old Terrier-mix dog, named Molly.
My educational background includes graduating from Los Alamitos High School, obtaining a B.A. in Sociology from UCLA, and a Masters of Special Education, along with a Mild/Moderate teaching credential from National University. While being a stay-at-home mom for several years, I had the privilege of volunteering in various PTO/PTA positions throughout BOUSD, as well as in local community organizations.
A few of my favorite past times include reading, spending time with my family, and staying active. I also enjoy dance and music, and love these simple words from a cherished song: "And when you get the choice to sit out or dance ... I hope you dance". These words speak to my strong belief that every individual should seize opportunities, take risks, and keep fighting faithfully for their dreams.
I look forward to working with each and everyone of my students and families this school year. Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to say "Hello".
Let's make this academic year a great year of working and growing together!
